The look of brick, without the bricklaying

Brick inlay panels give you the warmth and character of a traditional brick façade, built with the speed, strength and efficiency of precast.

Brick faces are cast into the panel in our factory, so the brickwork arrives on site already finished. It’s installed as one element, which takes the brick façade off the critical path and encloses the building faster.

How it's achieved

Brick faces are set out in the mould in the selected pattern, and the concrete is cast behind them, bonding brick and panel into a single element.

The joints are then pointed to complete the traditional brickwork look.

Options

  • Brick selection – a choice of brick colours and textures
  • Pointing – flush pointed or pointed (recessed) joints, depending on the look you want
  • Patterns – stretcher bond, stack bond, soldier courses and feature banding [confirm]
  • Combined finishes – brick inlay can be combined with off-form, etched, honed or other finishes on the same panel, such as banding, sills or feature borders

Why brick inlay

  • Off the critical path – the brick façade is made off site while the structure goes up, then installed quickly.
  • No scaffolding – no need for façade scaffolding or bricklaying at height.
  • Fewer trades on site – with less coordination and congestion, and less exposure to weather and labour delays.
  • Consistent quality – accurate coursing and uniform joints, made under factory conditions.
  • Structure and finish in one – the panel can be both the wall and the brick façade. See Walls.

Concrete is a natural material, so some variation in colour and aggregate is expected. See disclaimer on the Finishes page.
