Precast floors that keep your program moving
On a multi-storey or large-footprint project, floors are often what slows construction down. Formwork, propping, pouring and curing floor by floor all take time and keep trades waiting.
Precast floors arrive ready to place. They create an immediate working platform and let the structure rise faster, with fewer trades and less temporary works on site.
Floor types
- Solid slab flooring – precast slabs for building floors, balconies and landings, made to suit your layout and structural design.
- Planks – precast floor planks that are quick to place. They can be used with a structural topping to form a composite floor, with the plank acting as permanent formwork.
- Double tee-beam flooring – long-span floor units with two integral ribs, ideal where large open spaces are needed with fewer columns. Typical uses are car parks, industrial and commercial buildings, and stadia.
- Civil slabs – precast slabs for civil works such as culvert covers, bridge decks, access and service slabs.
Why precast floors
- Faster floor cycles – no floor-by-floor formwork, and little or no waiting for concrete to cure before the next trades can start.
- Less propping and formwork – precast units need far less temporary works than floors poured in place.
- Immediate working platform – trades can move onto the floor as soon as it is placed and secured.
- Long, open spans – double tees and post-stressed units reduce the number of columns and beams needed.
- Factory quality – consistent strength, dimensions and soffit finish, which can often be left exposed.
- Built-in fire and acoustic performance – from the concrete itself.
- Coordinated with the rest of the structure – floors are modelled in 3D with the walls, beams, columns and cores, so connections and openings are resolved before production.
