Pattern, texture and character, cast in
Form liners are patterned mould surfaces that cast texture directly into the face of a precast panel. They turn a plain wall into a feature, adding depth, shadow and character to façades, noise walls, retaining walls and public spaces.
Because the pattern is cast into the concrete, it’s permanent and durable, with no applied cladding to maintain.
Pattern options
- Imitation finishes – the look of brick, stone, tile or timber, with the strength and speed of precast.
- Ribbed and geometric – flutes, ribs and geometric profiles for strong vertical lines and crisp shadows on contemporary façades.
- Organic and bespoke – foliage, natural forms and custom designs, including patterns created for a specific project.
There are many patterns available, and each gives a different result in light and shadow. Talk to us early about the look you want to achieve.
Staining and colour
Staining can complete the finish and bring the texture to life. The options are:
- flat, single-tone colours
- multi-tonal and striated effects that mimic natural materials
- metallic finishes
Form liner textures can also be combined with coloured concrete mixes. See Colours on the Finishes page.
Where it works best
Typical applications are:
- building façades and feature walls
- noise walls along highways
- retaining walls in residential neighbourhoods
- foreshores and beachfronts
- parks and public spaces
Form liners are also cost-effective on repetitive panels, because the same liner can be reused across many elements. [Confirm]
Concrete is a natural material, so some variation in colour and aggregate is expected. See disclaimer on the Finishes page.
