Precast foundations for a faster, more certain start
Foundations set the pace for the whole project. Poured in place, they depend on the weather and ground conditions, and on the time needed for formwork, pours and curing, often in wet, confined or difficult excavations.
RAMCO precast foundation elements are made in the factory while the site is prepared, then placed as soon as the ground is ready. The structure can start going up sooner.
Foundation elements
- Pad footings – precast footings for columns and structures. They can include sockets or connections so precast columns can be placed straight away.
- Strip footings and ground beams – precast elements that support walls and ground-level structures.
- Piles – precast concrete piles for building, civil and marine projects.
- Piers and pier caps – precast piers and caps for bridges, jetties, boardwalks and elevated structures. See also Custom & Specialist Elements for marine work.
Why precast foundations
- Less time in the ground – no waiting for formwork, pours and curing in the excavation, so footings can be placed and backfilled quickly.
- Less weather-dependent – manufacturing continues in the factory regardless of site conditions.
- Quality you can’t see but rely on – factory-controlled concrete, cover and compaction give durable foundations, including in aggressive soils and marine environments.
- Ready for the structure – foundations are coordinated with RAMCO columns, walls and beams in 3D BIM, so connections line up when the structure goes in.
- Safer excavations – less time with workers in trenches and pits.
